Education

  • BSc in Astrophysics, University of Edinburgh (1991).
  • MSc in Philosophical Foundations of Physics (awarded with distinction), London School of Economics and Political Science, University of London (1992).
  • PhD in Philosophy of Science, with a thesis entitled “Models of the World, Data Models and the Practice of Science: the Semantics of Quantum Theory”, London School of Economics and Political Science, University of London (1997).

  • 1997-2002: Lecturer (permanent) in the Department of Philosophy, Bristol University.
  • 1997-1998: Posdoctoral Research Fellow in History and Philosophy of Science, Northwestern University, Illinois.

  • Quantum Propensities and Quantum Probabilities: Representation and Application (Spanish Ministry of Science and Education project FFI2008-06418-C03-01: 2009-2011). Part of the research network Philosophy of Physics: Propensities, Causality and SpaceTime, jointly with Carl Hoefer (Autonomous University of Barcelona) and Henrik Zinkernagel (University of Granada).
  • Causal and Classical Concepts in Science (Spanish Ministry of Education and Science project HUM2005-01787: 2005-8). Joint research network with Carl Hoefer (Autonomous University of Barcelona) and Henrik Zinkernagel (University of Granada).
